The Right Class for Your Dog
Group classes give your dog the chance to practice real skills in real environments around other dogs, in new spaces, with the kinds of distractions that actually matter in NYC. All courses are kept intentionally small so every dog gets the attention they need.

6-Week CourseReactive Rover

Do your neighbors head in the other direction when they see you and your dog exiting the building? Are you tired of your dog’s frantic barking and lunging at every dog they see? Our Reactive Rover class can help you teach your dog how to keep their cool on leash. Your walks will become a breeze in no time!
For dogs that bark, lunge, or growl at other dog’s on leash. Learn urban handling strategies and techniques to help your dog stay calm during city walks.
5-Week CourseTricks

Do you have an active dog with a big brain who’s constantly looking for things to do? Are you interested in growing your bond with your dog through training? In Tricks class you’ll work your dog’s brain and body while also strengthening your relationship and building their confidence!
High-five, kiss, sit pretty, and more. A fun class for dogs that need mental and physical stimulation - and for owners who want to deepen their bond.

Could your pet’s manners use a little polish? Have you let slide some of the skills you learned during their puppy days? Prep School is the perfect place to refine your dog’s skills so that you can enjoy a polite canine companion
Sharpen your dog’s skills with leave it, recall, drop it, and settling in new spaces. Great for adolescent and adult dogs who need a behavior tune up.
6-Week CourseCanine Good Citizen Course + Test

PREREQUISITES AND WHAT TO BRING
A Few Things to Know
Before You Book.

All participants must provide proof of current Rabies, DHPP/DA2PP, and Bordatella vaccines. We also require a copy of their latest negative fecal test.

The registered owner must bring the dog - friends or non-household family members are not permitted. We ask that no more than two household members join per dog.

A collar or a harness are required for all classes. Individuals classes like Reactive Rover may have adittional requirements.

Cancellations made 7 days or more before the group class/workshop start date are eligible for refunds. Less than 7 days' notice will result in forfeiture of the full fee.
Rescheduling requests may be made 7 days or more before the group class/workshop and are subject to the availability of other classes/workshops. If no other classes/workshops are on the schedule with open enrollment slots the client can be cancelled and refunded if they have reached out prior to the 7 day cancellation/rescheduling window.

Currently, our class size is limited which allows for more individualized attention to each participant. If you would like your second dog to join, you will need to purchase an additional space for them and each dog will need their own handler.

We do not offer prorated refunds, credits, or make-up classes for individual missed days within a series.

These 60-minute in-person workshops at PetStar Daycare are open to dogs 5 months and up with no training history required. Each one tackles a single, specific challenge — so you leave with real tools, not just information.
Window & Door Barkers

Reduce barking at deliveries, passersby, and windows. Create a calm environment for you and your neighbors.
Is it a challenge to get your dog to stop barking when you have a delivery or when they see other dogs walk passing by your windows? In this 60-minute workshop, discover effective methods to limit this habit altogether and learn valuable strategies to reduce the frequency and volume of your dog's barking so you can maintain a calm, quiet environment for yourself and your neighbors!
Basic Skill for Reactive Dogs

Learn critical tools to make walks less stressful when your dog reacts to dogs, people, or skateboards.
Is walking your dog stressful because of barking and lunging at other dogs, people, or skateboards? It can be embarrassing and frustrating! In this 60-minute workshop, learn critical skills that will transform your walks, making them less stressful and more enjoyable for both you and your dog.
Rowdy Teens

For adolescent dogs with big feelings and big energy. Learn how to support your dog through their challenging developmental phase.
Is your adolescent dog's behavior making you feel overwhelmed? Jumping, barking, or excessive mouthing are common signs of this challenging phase. The truth is, your dog's developing brain needs extra support and guidance during adolescence. Gain the practical skills and key concepts needed to help your dog regulate their behavior. This 60-minute workshop will provide you with the tools for a calmer, happier home.
WORKSHOP PREREQUISITES AND POLICIES
Each class is 60 minutes long
Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late to class will not be allowed admittance
Refunds are available for workshop cancellations made 7+ days in advance of the class start time
Proof of up-to-date Rabies, DHPP/DA2PP, and Bordetella vaccines are required to participate
WHAT TO BRING
Yourself! You may not send a friend or other household member in your place unless you have cleared it with the staff member and they have signed a waiver
For this specialty class, your dog must wear a martingale neck collar or a front-point body harness.
A Treat pouch (see recommendations)* is also required.
